a song I am loving:
A subtle difference exists between waiting for an invitation and waiting for permission.
And I think this is one of the most important distinctions for a Projector to understand. Because sometimes, what we call waiting for the invitation is actually something else.
If you have been following my journey since I left my Maldives diving job in December 2024 to run my business full time, you know it took almost 2.5 years of waiting before I finally made that leap, during which 3 formal invitations were presented to me.
I use the word waiting because a part of it included waiting for permission.
I remember the bigger question for me then was never a why, but a where.
In those 2.5 years, I would spend hours on Airbnb searching for homes in countries, cities, and towns I could think of. I even hired an Astrocartographer to suggest places I could move to that were good for me. I told her where I'd been and which countries stood out; she traced the connections and offered informative suggestions unique to my natal chart. Her work is amazing, and I am immensely grateful, but somehow I never made that leap to any of these places.
And if I am being very honest with myself, I was not waiting for a formal invitation; I was waiting for permission.
And as odd as it sounded, I was waiting for someone outside of me to validate that what I see, know, desire, or want to create is legitimate. I was waiting for the external world to provide me enough information and evidence to feed my fears and insecurities– and calling it Strategy.
The moment I recognized this, I surrendered.
I tossed any expectations and pedestal energy to the wind. I told myself it would all fall into place so long as I trust my why. And somehow, when your internal landscape shifts, my external landscape has no choice but to shift too. (It always happens)
Along with the terrible disrespect and fallout with my then HR manager, I made the very difficult decision to break the news of my resignation to my beloved diving team.
Fast forward to March 2025, I bought a one-way ticket to the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Baja California.
2 suitcases and a freediving bag.
No friends there again. (Thank God I convinced my friend Gabo to join me)
The news of the passing of my beloved macaw when I arrived in Los Angeles for my transit.
Eclipses things.
Just one big, fat, formal invitation:
“Sylvia, you should absolutely come to Baja. There is the Sea of Cortez and kiting. I got an extra room. We can work hard together and enjoy the desert life. It is about time you returned to Mexico.”
Only my friend Jose had an emergency and could not make it in time.
And to top it off, a few weeks into my move to Baja California, I found out that where I was going to live was very close to the zeniths of my Sun MC, Chiron MC, and Mercury MC lines.
The Maldives, where I spent almost 8 years of my life, was also close to my Saturn MC, Sun IC, Chiron IC, and Mercury IC lines. Same lessons, different themes.
Coincidence? I call it a cosmic orchestration.
Moving to Baja California, Mexico, was the best decision I made for my new life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I believe we each have our special place, and for me, it was Baja.

Waiting for an invitation is about recognition.
Active waiting is not silence, isolation, inactivity, or shrinking. When empowered, the need to initiate is reduced. meant to limit our gifts and accessibility; rather, it is designed to expand our potential as a Projector by protecting us from receiving the incorrect people, opportunities, resources, and environment.
It allows our interactions to be primed by a recognition-first approach.
That said, waiting for the invitation also encourages us to tolerate discomfort in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity. An awkward silence. A pause. A nod. Stillness. Non-direction in the pursuit of an outcome. Tossing the urgency of the room. Detachment regardless of proximity.
Waiting for permission is about outsourcing your authority because the uncertainty and ambiguity scare you. Not because you are weak, but because your muscle of self-trust still requires discernment and capacity building.
It asks a different set of questions that look like this:
Am I allowed to do this?
Am I ready enough?
Is someone going to tell me it’s okay?
What if I get it wrong?
What if nobody recognizes me?
What if it all fails?
Can I get an external opinion?
Maybe it is safer if someone agrees with me?
Because you do not need an invitation to do certain things.
You do not need an invitation to change your mind. You do not need an invitation to explore/pursue something privately. You do not need an invitation to follow your curiosity or answer that ping, or unsubscribe from any kind of inauthenticity.
And you certainly do not need someone else to give you permission to trust yourself.
You simply need to trust yourself enough to give yourself a copious amount of self-permission.
This is where the Projector Strategy can become much more nuanced than simply:
“Don’t initiate. Wait.”
Because if you interpret waiting as stagnancy until someone else gives you permission, you can become incredibly disconnected from your own Self-agency. You can spend years waiting for the recognition that would finally make you feel safe enough to act.
Sometimes you are waiting for the right invitation, and sometimes you are simply being asked to stop waiting for permission. Because the Projector life is far from a life of passivity.
It is about becoming deeply discerning about where your energy is actually invited and recognized to go. Every correct recognition is accompanied by a level of self-trust, and this cannot be replicated or be given to you by another person.
This is the kind of distinction we will explore inside The Projector Remembrance (TPR).
Because I certainly do not want TPR to be another place where you learn what a Projector should do/be. I want it to be a space where you begin to notice energetically what is actually happening inside you and around you. And where the things you intellectually understand about being a Projector can slowly and gently become something you actually live.
Because there is a difference between knowing your Strategy and trusting yourself enough to live it.
The Projector Remembrance (TPR) is a 12-week, small-group Projector mentoring container.
Centering around the technology of Human Design and Neuroscience,
TPR is for soul-led Projector women who hold the readiness to wholeheartedly uplevel, ground in their Projector resiliency, and expand their confidence in their Projector divinity alongside an empowered Projector women community.
